Maithili created M. in a Bottle after discovering a glass vial of rainbow-hued gemstones and one luminescent pearl that once belonged to her grandmother. It was typical of her grandmother to leave little boxes and bottles in unexpected places - full of tiny treasures and happy memories, waiting to be found. That vial was Maithili’s grandmother in a bottle, which she strung on a chain as a way to remember her. Moved by the idea that precious sentiments should be carried close to one’s heart, Maithili drew upon an age-old tradition of putting messages in a bottle.
From this was born M. in a bottle – a way in which anyone could create their own sentimental keepsake by having a message, mantra or wish engraved on a gold plate and inserted into a timeless glass bottle- worn as a pendant or kept on its own as a charming “objet trouvé”.
